Privacy notice
This directory does not use advertising pixels, session replay, or profiles of visitors. Public pages do not ask children for names, emails, ages, schools, or free-form notes.
What we collect
- Listing content that curators publish: app facts, sources, and verification dates.
- Contact emails from adults who submit an app, a correction, or a report. The address is encrypted and is not shown on the site.
- Staff account emails, passwords stored as hashes, and authentication codes for people who curate the directory.
- Aggregate counts, such as how many searches returned nothing. Those counts are not tied to a person.
- When you open an official app from a listing, a short-lived cookie remembers that click until you come back or four hours pass. We store the app, the click count, and how long the browser was away. We do not store a visitor identity.
What we do not collect
We do not keep a profile of a learner, a cross-session visitor history, or the text of a search attached to an identity. Raw request logs are not written with form bodies or contact addresses.
Retention and deletion
Contributor contacts are kept for follow-up, moderation, and abuse prevention. The retention period is set by the operating policy before submissions open. Audit records that do not contain the address may be kept.
